Philanthropy

For over 650 years The Worshipful Company of Wax Chandlers of the City of London has stood for fellowship, education and philanthropy.

Our philanthropy seeks to make a difference in society by supporting specific, finite projects through local, smaller established agencies in London, and more specifically the Borough of Bexley whose aims are to provide sustained improvement in education and training, as key enablers of prosperity, and alleviating need, hardship, or distress.

Building on our rich heritage we also continue to support national and international beekeeping, promoting the well-being of the honeybee and other pollinators through good husbandry; as well as engaging with modern wax associations, awards and events.

We continue to nurture our long-established military and other affiliations, recognising their unique contributions to our Nation, including HMS Protector, 5 Rifles and RAF Coningsby.

Our approach to philanthropy reflects our specific history and heritage, as well as the intentions of our donors through the centuries, in the context of the modern world.
